The next frontier of AI isn’t about brains; it’s about muscle — the massive compute infrastructure that powers every digital thought these systems produce.

That’s where OpenAI and Nvidia now stand shoulder to shoulder. Their new partnership — including plans to deploy 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems and invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI — marks a dramatic escalation in scale and ambition. The era of AI as a clever app is giving way to AI as a global utility, built on industrial-sized foundations.

Still, both companies are betting that demand will outpace difficulty — that the hunger for intelligence will justify the scale.
